Math Festival is something that we've created for the 1st through 8th graders to experience as part of their Math Explorations classes on Mondays. For 30 minutes once a month, the classes visit the "festival", which consists of various work stations that provide challenges to mathematical thinking, using a variety of hands-on materials. Parent volunteers are available at each station to assist students, but they do so with guiding the students' thinking, instead of just providing answers. The idea was put into reality by two of our Education Coordinators, who gathered and organized all the necessary materials.
