Hebrews
An ancient Mesopotamian people known as the Hebrews grew into a nation that was known for its monotheistic faith. Judaism is based on the belief in one God and in the teachings found in the Hebrew scriptures and other writings. From early kingdoms of ancient Israel to many Jewish communities today, Jews have retained and built on their ancient traditions and practices.
