"Birds, Bees, Fish and Trees" River Sites: Knights Ferry, Waterford, Caswell State Park
One of several nearby habitats, the riparian habitat offers a variety of living elements to investigate: birds, insects, plants and aquatic life. Any of the sites included here will offer a chance to investigate each element.
Pre Trip Before packing the car, take time to do some research and investigation in order to be prepared for what will be encountered on an adventure into riparian habitats. The following links will provide useful information. Families who utilize the Discovery Education account provided by Hickman Charter School will find many resources there. On the Go The car is packed and it's time for the adventure! Be sure to bring camera and bingo card so that you can record events of the day! Photo Treasure Hunt: Hickman families are invited to take 10 pictures of nature/wildlife and identify the subjects in the photos.
